Terms & Conditions

Ekam is a personal organiser: a holiday calendar with a diary, reminders, events, lists and simple money records. By installing or using it, you agree to what is set out below.
Ekam is made by N!rvana Labs, the name under which Dipjyoti Dutta develops and publishes apps. N!rvana Labs is a brand name, not a registered company, so these terms are an agreement between you and Dipjyoti Dutta. Both are referred to below as “we”.
1. Using the app
You may use the app on any device you own, for personal or work purposes, free of charge. You may not resell it, or redistribute a modified copy of it as your own.
2. Your content is yours
Everything you write in the app belongs to you. We claim no rights over it, and we cannot see it — as the Privacy Policy explains, it never leaves your device unless you send it somewhere yourself.
You are responsible for what you record. Do not use the app to store anything you are not permitted to keep.
3. Backups are your responsibility
Because your data lives only on your device, it exists in exactly one place until you copy it. If you lose the device, reset it, or uninstall the app, the data goes with it, and we cannot recover it — there is no copy on any server for us to restore from. The app provides an export function, and using it regularly is the only protection against this. We are not liable for data lost because no backup existed.
4. Holiday dates are a guide, not an official record
Ekam is an independent app. It is not made by, linked to, or approved by any government. Holiday information is copied from each state’s published holiday list — the state government’s own notification wherever one is available — and is provided for convenience only. The source for every state is listed on the Holiday sources page. Dates can be changed, added or withdrawn by the relevant government after publication, and copying errors are possible.
Do not rely on the app alone for any decision that matters — booking travel, applying for leave, scheduling a payment, or anything with a legal or financial deadline. Check the official notification or your employer’s calendar. The same applies to the leave planner, which suggests how days off could be arranged and has no knowledge of your actual leave entitlement or your employer’s rules.
5. Reminders
The app schedules reminders through Android’s alarm system. Whether a reminder actually appears depends on your device: battery optimisation, “do not disturb”, notification permissions, force-stopping the app and some manufacturers’ background restrictions can all delay or suppress it. Do not depend on the app for anything critical such as medication or a legal deadline.
6. Money features
The expense ledger, the dues tracker and the earnings shown against tracked activities are simple record-keeping and arithmetic on figures you enter yourself. They are not financial, accounting or tax advice, they connect to no bank or payment service, and no figure in the app is evidence of a debt or a payment.
7. Advertising
The app is free to use and is paid for by advertising, supplied by Google AdMob. Adverts are chosen and served by Google, not by us: we do not control what any individual advert says, and showing one is not an endorsement of the product or the advertiser. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.
What we do control is where adverts may appear, and we limit it: banners and in-feed panels only, in a small number of fixed places. No full-screen, app-open, interstitial or rewarded adverts, and never an advert inside a notification, on the calendar itself, or in a dialog. Nothing an advert does will interrupt what you are doing or cover the screen.
Removing adverts. The app may offer a one-time purchase that removes its adverts. It is not a subscription and adds no other features. It is sold and charged by Google Play, so Google Play’s terms and refund policy apply to the payment. The purchase belongs to your Google account: after reinstalling, or on another device signed in to the same account, use the restore option under Remove ads in Settings.
What the ad network collects, and how to limit it, is set out under Advertising in the Privacy Policy.
8. No warranty
The app is provided “as is”. We do our best to make it correct and reliable, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every holiday date, reminder or calculation will be accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app — including lost data, a missed reminder, a missed deadline, or a decision taken on the basis of a holiday date shown in it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
10. Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised, and continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the revised terms.
11. Ending these terms
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. These terms end when you do.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Assam have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
